Standardizing the Phone Charger

!±8± Standardizing the Phone Charger

Do you ever wish that cell phone chargers were universal and that all cell phones could use the same charger? I hope everyone who reads this shouted "yes!" This has been one of the most frustrating issues we have dealt with here at cell phone chargers guide. What is this new charger that will make the world a better place you might ask? The answer is simple, USB.

What is USB? USB stands for Universal Serial Bus. You are probably already familiar with USB as it is already a part of your current computer. Many things use the USB interface such as newer printers, jump drives, ipods, and portable hard drives. USB has been in use for the last 8 years and truly is a standard port that most people have if they have bought a computer in the last 8 years.

How does USB standardize chargers? USB cell phone chargers are awesome because they usually come with the new phones that are coming out. There are two options on the new chargers to charge with USB. The first way is that USB charger can plug in the wall jack and then it plugs into your phone. Easy enough right? Well even better you can take the usb cable out of the charger and plug it into your work, home, or mobile laptop computer and it will charge your phone! This standardizes phone chargers because you can plug your phone usb cable into any computer or usb wall jack. The charger is definitely standardized by moving to USB technology; however the plug connector into the phone is still not standardized. Even though you are using USB you still have to have the right USB cable that has the right connector for you phone. We are sure this standardization is coming very soon.

Another great feature about USB cell phone chargers is that by having the ability to plug your cell phone into your computer you can now control your phone's software through the computer. Companies like Verizon send software with your new phone so that you can upload music files, pictures, and even videos to your phone from your computer saving you phone minutes and time. All the new phones that are coming out on the market have this type of software so that you can truly and finally get the most out of your phone. Today's phones need more functionality because phones are much more than just phones these days. They are our day planner, scheduler, and communication portal to the world.
